This year, this nearly forgotten patriotic holiday shares its day with another high flying patriot—Spider-Man.

Yes, after nearly 200 preview performances this over-sized arachnid, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” is finally making it official and opening on Broadway.

And while its easy and tempting to make cracks about tangled webs, and climbing back up the water spout; you’ve got to have a bit of respect for this little enormous show that could.

So, on behalf of all of us who have made jokes or other witty comments at your expense these past several months, I would like to wish you an excellent opening night, and a successful Broadway run.

Break a leg (too easy).
