Happy Flag Day, fellow crusaders! Today marks the 240th anniversary of our flag’s official adoption. That would be June 14, 1777 for those keeping score.
While the look of our flag has changed over the years with the addition of a few more stars here and there, the dream it stands for stays the same. And while it’s clear that we don’t agree on everything, our flag serves as a reminder that we all play a part in making that dream a reality.

Today, the red, white and blue are flying proudly, and not just on flag poles across the country.
This year, this nearly forgotten patriotic holiday shares its day with another high flying patriot—Spider-Man.
Yes, after nearly 200 preview performances this over-sized arachnid, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” is finally making it official and opening on Broadway.
And while its easy and tempting to make cracks about tangled webs, and climbing back up the water spout; you’ve got to have a bit of respect for this little enormous show that could.
So, on behalf of all of us who have made jokes or other witty comments at your expense these past several months, I would like to wish you an excellent opening night, and a successful Broadway run.
