…feel crumby

Amongst other things, social media has brought with it a seemingly endless parade of “random” holidays celebrating just about everything under the sun. It begs the question, “If we’re celebrating everything, are we really celebrating anything?”

Still, some of these days still require our respect, so today I have to insist that we pause for the occasion, which just happens to be all about…

…Crumble

The real victim of this cookie dough shortage.

I’d like to start by saying that when dealing with a crisis the most important thing to do is not to panic.

Now for the bad news–THE COOKIE DOUGH IS GONE!

Well not gone, but there is a Nestle Toll House cookie dough shortage (is there another type of cookie dough?) looming on the horizon.

Nestle recently informed the FDA that two samples of their cookie dough had tested positive for E. coli.

Now I know some of you might be thinking that satisfying your cookie dough craving is totally worth the risk (it’s not).

Sorry, but you won’t get the chance since none of the E. coli positive product left the factory.

Unfortunately for all you cookie dough addicts, the news only gets worse.

Production of the new dough doesn’t start until January 25th, and won’t be in stores until early March (keep breathing).

I know it’ll be tough, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

Of course, I’m sure we all realize that the important thing is that the E. coli infected cookie dough was contained, and no one got hurt.

However, if there’s no new cookie dough until March, well, lets just say I’m glad I don’t live on Sesame Street.

If you really need to get your cookie dough fix try this: Chocolate Chip Cookies

I hear they’re almost as good as the prepackaged kind, and rumor has it that they taste even better if you bake them in the oven.  Just a suggestion.

…and try to keep in mind the real victim of this cookie dough shortage: C is for Apple?
