…lead by example

We are living in extraordinary times, crusaders. As absolutely overwhelming as they can be, they are (for better or worse) uncommon. Unfortunately, fear and distrust are no strangers to current events, and it’s easy to lose sight of that bigger picture when you’re in the middle of those smaller but significant moments.

So, I wouldn’t blame you if you missed a moment of historic proportions that happened quietly while much of the world’s attention was focused elsewhere.

…Build Momentum

Welcome to Monday, fellow crusaders! Whether you’re feeling jazzed, dismayed, dizzy, dazed or indifferent after last night’s Tony Awards we could all use a little boost (or jazz hands?) to get the week rolling.

Seeing as those of us who care about such things are coming off of a theater high, I’m taking my cue from the stage. I’m borrowing my motivation for this new week from this year’s nominated shows…and you’re welcome to as well.

It’s Tony Nominations day, crusaders, and now that the dust of another year of theater has settled, the chosen few have risen to the top.

Yes, the secret is out, the most-nominated show of the season (tied with “Mean Girls” is about an animated sponge.

I know there are more than a few people today thinking that the placement of “SpongeBob SquarePants” at the top of the Tony nominee standings is another sign of the end times. But I’m here to tell you, if you really believe that, you don’t know SpongeBob. Read the rest of this entry

Happy Groundhog Day!

Today the world’s eyes turn to a small town in Pennsylvania as America’s most famous marmot steps out of his burrow for the only day of work he’ll have all year (a pretty sweet gig).

Of course the little guy’s job has gotten decidedly more difficult as climate change has reared its ugly head, but today is not about the difficulty of the job (or the reality that is climate change). Crusaders, we made it! It’s Thursday (aka Friday Eve)! I think we can all agree that it’s been a rough couple of days here…without getting into details because I just can’t.
