With the Summer of Blockbusters behind us, this Read a Book Day is the perfect time to catch up on those, “soon to be a feature film,” books that you didn’t quite read before the movies came out this summer. Spoilers, be damned, you’ve already seen the movie, which the book is usually better than, now is the time to dive into the source material.
Don’t worry, I’ll join you, because I admit “A Wrinkle in Time” is the only book I read before seeing the movie this summer…and technically that doesn’t count…it was a March movie. But what better time to fix that than the beginning of sweater weather (which I sure hope will be here soon)?
Now, where to begin…“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”
No scoffing because it’s YA. That’s just a genre…
“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”
This one didn’t officially appear in our summer blockbusters, but it is officially on my reading list…
“Crazy Rich Asians”
If I had a dollar for every copy of this I’ve seen on an airplane this summer, I might have gone ahead and got my own copy…
“A Wrinkle in Time”
This wasn’t technically a summer movie, but if you haven’t read this book, fix that now…
“The Girl” sure seems to get around…
