…lift your spirits

Just six days to go until Halloween and that means we’re seven days into the most revered of the modern, cultural Halloween celebrations—Freeform’s 13 Nights of Halloween.

This televised tradition brings millennials (they didn’t change ABC Family to Freeform for nothing) all the Halloween fun they could ask for.

But this year’s marathon of Gen Y-approved festive joy is missing something that I just can’t quite put my finger on…and I mean that literally (because he’s a ghost).

What happened to “Casper,” Freeform? Don’t get me wrong, the rest of the lineup is lovely. Some might say that 16 airings of “Hocus Pocus” over 13 days is excessive, but those people don’t know the Sanderson Sisters.

And to be fair, nearly half of those are for the full day of Sanderson Sisters on Halloween.

All of the usual favorites are there…the boy wizard for all seasons, Mr. Potter himself…

And the movie that has you covered from late September through the new year…

But what is 13 Days without having to grapple with the consequences of Bill Pullman’s actions?

You deprived a young child of his second chance at life, sir. What do you have to say for yourself?

You can try to distract us with another delightful seasonal treat featuring Christine Ricci, but Wednesday Addams cannot fill the hole in our hearts…

Of course, Casper isn’t the only forgotten fright this year, but I better not mention it…

But don’t worry, you’ll be able to get your “The Haunted Mansion” fix…

While we all wait patiently for Disney to fix “The Haunted Mansion.”

…bi-daily smile…
