…Eek Out

This is not a drill boys and ghouls, it’s officially one week until Halloween! That means you have less than seven days to finalize your costume details, and even less time to prepare for the weekend’s Halloween festivities.

If you don’t have a go-to witch, cowboy (or girl), or pirate costume lying around, the Internet has provided the perfect tool for picking a Halloween costume with minimal thought and creativity—Google’s Frightgeist. Because who knows Internet trends better than Google? I’ll wait while you go google that…

Okay, now that you’ve confirmed reality, back to Frightgeist.

The tool pulls on Google’s uncomfortably large knowledge of everything we’re looking up on the Internet (everything) to determine the top Halloween costume searches. Even better (or worse?) the results are updated in real-time, so if you’re not a fan of the current number one (Wonder Woman) you can wait a few hours and see if the interwebs have changed their mind.

Of course, if blending into a sea of Supermans and Harley Quinns isn’t your idea of a successful costume, Frightgeist can also find you a less popular costume, and break your search down by location (if you want to up the information-tracking creep factor).

On that note, I’ll leave you to finalize your costume details. May it be as original or unoriginal as you hoped.

…just for fun:
