…drop some knowledge
It’s the eve of the second of three presidential debates, so naturally today I’ll be talking “Saturday Night Live”…
As Zer discussed last weekend, SNL has become an important part of any election season, and it seems that this one needs it more than ever. Of course, this week’s SNL is special for reasons beyond political opportunities. Tonight, worlds will collide for theater fans everywhere as Broadway’s own, Lin-Manuel Miranda, plays the part of host for tonight’s proceedings.
That high pitched squeal you’ve been hearing for the past week and a half was the theater dorks collectively freaking out.
I may be wrong, but I think this may be the first time the winner of a MacCarthur Genius grant has hosted “Saturday Night Live” …also for those still wondering who Lin-Manuel Miranda is…he wrote and starred in “Hamilton.” And if you still don’t know who I’m talking about I’m going to assume you’ve been living in a hole for the past year, and still highly recommend that you tune in this evening to see what’s bound to be a fantastic week for SNL.
Until then, I’ll leave you to your Saturday mornings and afternoons.
