…Pick a Side

Captain-America-Civil-WarReady or not, here come the summer blockbusters. This week kicks off the months long onslaught of action and superhero packed cinematic entertainment.

From Marvel’s latest offerings to the divisive (seriously, the trolls need to get over it) new “Ghostbusters” to the latest Pixar flick “Finding Dory” this summer has it all.

Before we get to all that good fun, there’s “Captain America: Civil War.” Being the latest and greatest from the Marvel/Disney juggernaut, this film is the one to beat. It has its fair share of rivals, but the rivals I’d like to discuss today are the ones in the film itself. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking Team Cap and Team Iron Man, and I’m picking a side.

Drum roll please…

I’m going with Team Cap…and yes I do have a nerdy detailed explanation.

I can understand Team Iron Man’s fear of the Avengers remaining unchecked or regulated. However, the recent fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. due to a decades long infiltration by Hydra doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the government’s ability to govern and regulate the Avengers.

In fact, it’s a strong argument for why the Avengers should remain a separate entity with their own internal checks and balances. Allowing them to be controlled by a governmental body puts them at risk for repeating history.

And in conclusion, go Team Cap!

…just for fun:
