Only two weeks to go until Thanksgiving. Which means if you haven’t started planning and shopping already, it’s time to start.
If the tight timeline isn’t enough to inspire you into action, then you should take into consideration this year’s turkey shortage.
Yes, you read that right, there’s a turkey shortage. An outbreak of bird flu took out about 8 million turkeys this year. Plus, the survivors are smaller than usual.
Which isn’t any reason to panic, but it is a reason for the price of turkey to go up.
So, assuming you are still reading this and haven’t already bolted for the nearest grocery store to stock up on frozen turkey, you might want to go…like now.
…oh, and while you’re there you might want to stock up on pumpkin pie filling…it was a bad year for the pumpkins too.
