With just over a week to go until Halloween, today’s Flick Friday is getting a little spooky. At the beginning of the month, Stephanie shared her favorite Halloween movies. Well, now it’s my turn.
Fair warning, these are not all horror movies. In fact, most of them aren’t. I’m a fan of moderation in all things, including scary movies.
What can I say? It’s a classic. It has the perfect combination of ghosts, Bill Murray, and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
“The Nightmare Before Christmas”
Apparently there’s been some debate over the past 20 years or so as to whether or not this is a Christmas or Halloween movie. This point of contention was recently put to rest when the director of the film weighed in, and proclaimed it is a Halloween movie. Personally, I think it’s both. However, either way it’s a great film (no matter what season you watch it during).
“The Cabin in the Woods”
This is about as close to horror as my list gets, and technically this is a horror comedy. It pokes fun at the predictability and awfulness of many modern horror films. Of course, it also does this with some serious gore and a few twists.
…just for fun:
