Target announced this week that it will become a little more gender neutral in the next few months. The announcement came as a response to a social media uproar over the store’s gender labels used in the children’s departments.

Specifically, the store will adjust its signage for kids’ toys, bedding, and books. Which, I have to applaud. Personally have not noticed or been offended by the signage, and I think social media could be used to forward much more important causes.

However, I have to admit there’s really no reason to designate gender outside of the clothing departments. And as a former girl who loved Legos that weren’t pink and purple, I can’t help but support this decision.

Way to go Target!
