…Turn Over A New Leaf
Today, this environmentally friendly holiday turns 45. Back in 1970, Earth Day was a U.S. holiday designed to raise awareness for environmental causes. It has since then, grown into a global celebration. According to the Earth Day Network, more than one billion people will take part in Earth Day celebrations this year.
If that kind of makes you feel like you should do something too, then I have some good news. There are plenty of ways to celebrate whether you’re looking to go all out, or keep things simple.
For those looking to quietly celebrate, you can head over to Google. Clicking on today’s Earth Day inspires Doodle, will send you to a quiz where you can find out your spirit animal.
You can also go shopping, if that’s your thing. Yes, believe it or not, there are Earth Day sales. Amazon and Caribou Coffee are just a few who have environment-inspired deals. Eddie Bauer is even planting a tree for every purchase make today.
If you’re looking to go all out, and truly commit to this celebration you can always ditch your car, plant a tree, start a compost pile, and install some solar panels and wind turbines…or, you could just finally update to fluorescent light bulbs, for a start.
However, you choose to celebrate, have a happy Earth Day!
