It’s time we all admit that we might be in the middle of another polar vortex. I know it’s not an easy thing. Denial can be a strong ally, but when you’ve arrived at a place where 20 degrees is a warm day, it’s time to admit the truth.
I’m not saying you should abandon all hope. In fact, that hope may be doing more than inspiring you to continue head-on into those bone-chilling, snot-freezing winds, wondering if you’ll ever feel warmth again, thinking how did I get here?
…but my point is, that optimism can can not only warm your heart in those bleak, frigid moments, but save it in the long run. I mean that clinically. Optimism is good for your heart.
Personally, I’m of the belief that optimism is always the best policy…within reason…there’s a line somewhere between hoping for the best and being a Cubs fan (I’m sorry I can’t help it, it was there). It’s true sometimes optimism can go to far. But life’s too short, your heart will thank you for it.
Speaking of optimism: Happy National Rubber Ducky Day!
