It’s hard to believe, but another Summer Olympics has nearly come and gone. The races have been run, cycled and swum. The matches fought, won and lost. And now it’s time to for everyone to go home…but not before one last party.
While the closing ceremonies may not be as fantastic as the opening (it’s hard to top a parachuting queen and 40 foot Lord Voldemort) they’re sure to be nothing short of entertaining.
Some things have been confirmed (George Michael will be performing) and more or less confirmed (the Spice Girls!), but there’s still plenty of room for conjecture.
And with a budget more than double that of the opening ceremonies, well, I think it’s safe that any and every musical act that has ever hailed from the UK, will be making an appearance at Olympic Stadium this Sunday.
In case that’s just too low-key for you, there will also be more than 3,500 performers participating in the closing ceremony. No word yet, on whether or not the army of Mary Poppins’ will be making a return, but here’s hoping Harry Potter will be dousing the Olympic flame (a quick aguamenti should do it).
