…keep it simple

...if only she had sung about moderation...wait...

It seems Mary Poppins wasn’t telling us the whole story about that “Spoonful of Sugar.”

Don’t worry High Fructose Corn Syrup (or corn sugar…what ever it is your going by these days) you can take it easy for a moment.

Another food villain has caught the eye of the ever vigilant health police.

The latest perp in the obesity epidemic lineup is none other than simple sugar itself.

Yes, our granulated friend has turned on us.  To think it was right under our noses this whole time.

Sitting their innocently on the counter.  And all the while plotting away.  Who knows, the coffee, salt, and pepper were probably in on it too.

Diabetes, heart disease, and metabolic abnormalities are just a few of the possible results of over consuming sugar.

Shocking?

Sugar, how could you do this to us?  After all that we’ve done for you?

Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day…they’re entire days, nay, seasons dedicated to you (and a few other things).

And now you’re telling us that excessive amounts of you are bad for us?

A nice thank you note would have sufficed.

How am I supposed to get my fix with only 6 teaspoons a day (9 for men)?

Chocolate cravings don’t really allow for moderation.

I guess this is it then.  We’ve had some sweet times, but you’re just going to have to go.

Well, maybe we could wait until the new year.  It is the holiday season after all.
