While rhyming’s good fun, a lyrical whim, it must soon come to a close.

National Poetry Month will soon be no more, and we’ll be returning to prose.

What started as farce with mathematical flare, a rhyming April Fools

Has lived well beyond and continued on each Sunday all month through.

We jotted a sonnet with Easter flourishes on it, then followed with a quick running verse.

With two weeks to go, we thought we could grow, and take a quick trip ’round the Earth.

So as April showers bring on May flowers our month of verse must end.

It was fun while it lasted, and do rest assured that we will rhyme again.
