…Weather the Storm
It’s been a stormy week in the US, and we’re not even halfway through.
While the GOP meets in Tampa, next door, Hurricane Isaac pummels the Gulf Coast as it makes its way inland.
On top of that, this is all happening on the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina; a catastrophe which the GOP would rather not remember as they name their latest hope to reclaim the White House.
It seems like the perfect storm, too perfect if you ask certain big-mouthed radio personalities (Mr. Limbaugh, for those who didn’t guess on their own). Who knew that in addition to power over the executive branch of government, the American Presidency now comes with the power to control the weather (or at least the forecast).
Because an unpredictable hurricane during hurricane season, just makes too much sense.

Now hold on, expressing mild shock or even sarcasm over sounds rushing out of one of the world’s most powerful wind sources (Mr. Limbaugh) shows a certain disingenuousness. And thus concludes my usage of today’s big word…
I may not be a meteorologist, but I know a sign from the almighty when I see it. Clearly god likes New Orleaneans, even less than GOPers.
